My boys first school bus trip

Well we got our Calgary load. Then off we went. We got there nice and early then switched trailers for an empty as we was collectiong down the road and needed to replace the trailer we was picking up in. That one was on its way back to Winnipeg. Again we got there in plenty of time so we switched trailers for one then going to Toronto, but half way there we was told to swap trailers with another team as them worked out of Brampton and they wanted to go home for a few days off. Their trailer was going to Montreal. Once we dropped that in Montreal, we switch for a load going to Nova Scotia. I had asked to have a couple of days off when we was due to get back but as we was passing Woodstock, they allowed me to get out there and let Bernie to drop that load and collect another for Moncton. He got back the following morning as he had to wait a couple of hours before he could set off as his trailer was 2 hours behind us. Plus his collection to bring him back to Woodstock was not till 3am the following morning.

Anyway so I was back Sunday instead of today which meant I got chance to see my oldest boy go to school on the school bus for the first time. His first week, my wife just took him to school for him to make new friends so he would not be alone on the bus. You know what English women are like with there young kids. Afraid to let them go alone on a bus with total strangers thinking they will let them off just anywhere. Its not like that at all. Kids here have been going to school this way like for ever. So they know who gets on and off where etc. they need consent to let them off any other place other than there own home, so very safe. Today his is third day on the bus and he thinks its great. They just pick him up at the end of the Drive so we do not have to walk anywhere with him. Its great.

I’m just getting ready as me and Bernie are on are way out again today. Not sure when or for how long again. We are supposed to be getting a brand new truck when Joe gets the next one in. so they say. It does normally happen, but when we do not know. So until then, We will be using someone else’s truck while they have their time off again. So till the next time here is some more pictures of our journey.
